I grew up in Albany, NY where I broke the 42 year old city public school record in the discus throw. In 1983 I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts from Syracuse University. After college I worked in Albany and then NYC as an artist until illness ended my career at age 28. By then my work had appeared on book covers and posters, and in magazines and newspapers. I even art directed and cowrote a television commercial for the State of New York. Among my clients were Viking Penguin Books, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The National Museum of Dance, and The Rockefeller Institute. My original pieces can be found in the collections of The General Electric Corporation and Pulitzer Prize winning novelist William Kennedy. I have been totally physically disabled since the early 1990s and have resided in Nashua, NH for 25 years with my wife and two daughters. I welcome questions and comments at jonslocum@comcast.net
